The high road on this is to use the camera card, transfer the files - back up the files, so they exist on at least two different elements (hard drives, CDs, etc.), THEN put the card back in the camera and format it - it erases the previous images, but since they are backed up that's no big deal. This creates a new directory for the card for shooting and since you are starting with a fresh directory each time, there is minimal chance of the directory getting fragmented which leads to data loss.
Instead of rotating windmills, what about a vibrating belt. The Tacoma Narrows bridge disaster started this train of thought. Very very interesting. And instead of buying a car, why not share a car? Or get a cool Smart Car beginning at $11k/US. I like yellow, I think, since there is no purple or green.
Someone has come up with a very clever and simple solution to lack of clean water in sub-saharan Africa, it seems. (Hint: it's a merry-go-round)
